PAM for Mining & Mineral Processing

High molecular weight anionic polyacrylamide for tailings dewatering, mineral flotation, coal washing, and process water recycling

Industry Challenges

Mining operations face unique water treatment demands that require specialized polymer solutions

High Suspended Solids

Mining wastewater contains extremely high concentrations of suspended solids (5,000-50,000 mg/L) from ore processing, requiring high-efficiency flocculants with strong bridging capability.

Water Recycling Demands

Stricter environmental regulations and water scarcity drive mines to recycle up to 95% of process water. Effective PAM treatment enables rapid solid-liquid separation for water reuse.

Tailings Management

Tailings ponds require rapid settling and high-density underflow. Our ultra-high molecular weight anionic PAM achieves faster settling rates and drier cake solids.

Cost Efficiency

Low dosage rates (2-10 g/ton of dry solids) combined with superior flocculation performance reduce overall chemical cost per ton of ore processed.

SGFLOC A603 at 5g/ton achieved settling rate of 8.5m/h with underflow density of 58%. 30% lower dosage vs previous supplier.

Mining PAM FAQ

Which PAM type for mining wastewater?
Anionic PAM is the standard for mining applications. Mining slurries typically contain negatively charged mineral particles that respond best to anionic flocculants. Molecular weight of 15-22 million provides optimal bridging and settling.
What dosage of PAM for tailings?
Typical dosage: 2-10 grams per ton of dry solids. Lower for coal washing (2-5 g/ton), higher for metal ore tailings (5-10 g/ton). Jar testing determines the optimal dosage for your specific ore type.
How to prepare PAM solution for mining use?
Prepare 0.1-0.5% solution: dissolve 1-5g PAM in 1 liter of clean water with slow mechanical stirring (100-300 rpm) for 60 minutes. Use within 24 hours. Never use high-speed mixers — they shear the polymer chains.
Can you provide a sample for our mine?
Yes. We ship 500g-1kg free samples within 24 hours. Our technical team will guide your jar test and help select the optimal grade for your ore type. Request a sample here.
